ABOUT THE SONS OF CONFEDERATE VETERANS

The Sons of Confederate Veterans is a hereditary organization of descendants of Confederate soldiers. Since 1896, the SCV has worked to preserve the history and memory of the men who served, maintain and protect their graves and historic sites, preserve historical records, and help descendants learn more about their family heritage.

Today, SCV members across the country continue that work through genealogy, historical research, preservation, education and remembrance.

THE WILLIAMSON COUNTY GRAYS

The Williamson County Grays, Camp #502, is the local SCV Camp serving Georgetown and Williamson County.

Our members share an interest in Civil War history, genealogy and historic preservation. We research and document veterans, preserve and mark graves, support the preservation of historic sites and monuments, participate in community historical events, and help descendants discover the stories of their Confederate ancestors.

Most importantly, we believe those stories are worth passing to another generation.
