Our meeting date and location have changed. May 12, 2026 at the Circleville Store, 600 State Hwy 95, Taylor, TX
A new chapter in preserving Southern history and honoring Confederate heritage is coming to Burnet County.
Due to growing local interest, efforts are now underway to charter a new camp of the Sons of Confederate Veterans in Burnet County — the Adam Rankin “Stovepipe” Johnson Camp.
Named in honor of the legendary Confederate cavalry commander Adam Rankin Johnson, the camp will provide an opportunity for men who are descendants of Confederate veterans — and those interested in preserving Southern history — to come together in fellowship, historical education, community service, and heritage preservation.
The new camp plans to support a variety of activities, including:
Historical and educational programs
Preservation of Confederate graves and memorials
Participation in community and patriotic events
Genealogical and ancestral research assistance
Support for local history initiatives in Burnet County and the surrounding area
Fellowship with others who share an interest in Texas and Confederate history
Whether you are already a member of the SCV, have Confederate ancestry and would like to learn more about membership, or simply want additional information about the new camp, we invite you to contact us using the form below.
As interest grows, organizational meetings and chartering details will be announced.
Join us in helping preserve the history, honor, and legacy of the Southern soldier for future generations.
